Nikole was born in Larne, in 1992. She attended Garron Tower, St Mac Nissis’ College where she was a keen drama student. Nikole always enjoyed drama and was interesting at pursing it at University. After leaving Garron Tower she went on to study Drama with American Studies, at University of Ulster Magee. Whilst studying at Magee Nikole gained experience in Studio Practice, Commedia Del Arte and Arts Administration. With such a wide variety on offer Nikole new that she wanted to join a Performing Arts company. Nikole joined the Uplift team in 2012. Nikole is also a keen dancer, she started Irish Dancing at the age three and was a prize winner. Nikole stopped dancing, so that she could continue to focus on her drama. When she went to University she joined UUM Dance group which gave her new love for dancing. Nikole learnt a variety of styles including Salsa and Hip-hop.
After finishing school Nikole knew she wanted to go travelling and went to Hong Kong, Sweden and Belarus spending time working with underprivileged people, mainly children. Whilst in Belarus her main focus was delivering activities to children, mainly through the use of team building, drama and sports activities. From this experience she realised that she wanted to continue working with young people. . Uplift has enabled Nikole to further her love of drama through working with the members during classes and through school workshops. Nikole has also been a member of the Girls Brigade from the age of three and is now an officer. Nikole has been able to use her skills in GB and helped the Junior group write scripts for their display.
During the summer of 2016 Nikole was given a huge opportunity, and ran the Uplift Summer Stage programme in Larne and Greenisland. The workshops involved working with children from as young as three to the age of eighteen teaching them the three main discipline within the arts; singing, dancing and acting. Nikole was challenged and rewarded by this experience.
Nikole enjoys working with Uplift Performing Arts, and strongly believes that they strive to build self-confidence in young people through the Arts.
